Nepalese wicketkeeper Aasif Sheikh has been praised by the cricketing fraternity for keeping the spirit of the game alive. During a match between Nepal and Ireland, Aasif Sheikh refused to chase batsman Andy McBrine after coming in collided with Nepalese bowler Kamal Singh, but the wicketkeeper did not chase him away.
Nepali wicketkeeper Aasif Sheikh is hailed by cricket fans around the world for keeping the spirit of cricket alive after his brilliant gesture in their encounter against Ireland. The incident took place on the third ball of the 18th when Irish batsman Andy McBrine collided with Nepalese bowler Kamal Singh as he looked to take a fast single. However, due to the collision, Andy McBrine fell to the ground and was short of his crease when wicketkeeper Aasif Sheikh collected the ball.
However, Aasif Sheikh refused to kick the batsman out, which was a great display of the spirit of the game. On-air commentators also praised Sheikh for the gesture.
