Need help applying for discounted Internet access? Here’s where to find it

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Low-income households can get free high-speed internet through Comcast, and representatives can help local residents in person in Huntsville.

Internet Essentials Plus includes a modem, unlimited data, access to the national network of Xfinity hotspots in businesses, restaurants and other public places, and download speeds of 100 Mbps – good for a few devices connecting to the Internet to stream TV shows and movies, as well as remote work/school work and general web browsing/email access.

This all costs $29.95/month, however, customers who qualify for the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) can apply their $30/month credit to their internet service, which means there will be no no cost for the service.

In-person help is available at the Bridge Street Xfinity store (320 Bridge St, Suite 112; next to the Apple Store in the southern part of the outdoor mall). Additionally, help is available on the Xfinity ACP website, the Xfinity Internet Essentials website, or by calling (844) 389-4681 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. daily. A dedicated ACP Registration and Support Center is available, with multilingual support to assist anyone interested in the program.
