Gymnast MyKayla SkinnerTokyo 2020 Games time is over after teammate Jade Carey scored second place in the vault final. As her journey to the catwalk is over, MyKayla promises viewers that they haven’t seen the last of her.
“This closes the book on my gymnastic career, and my only regrets were things beyond my control. So no regrets,” the 24-year-old wrote on Instagram on July 26. “For now, I’ll just try to fill the hole in my heart.”
She continues, “Don’t be a stranger here or on my YouTube! Lots of fun things to come.”
As for how MyKayla feels, the Olympian admits that she is still dealing with the events of the past 48 hours. “Heartbroken to put it mildly, but I’m proud of myself to have come here after everything I’ve been through,” MyKayla recalls. “I would have loved my scores to count for the team and I would have loved to make the event finals, but still did some of my best gymnastics here as an Olympian and that’s something no one can’t take me away. “
