HOUSTON – Gunfire broke the silence on Lana Lane and Mid Lane in an area near the Galleria.
“I’ve lived here for eight years and know people who have lived here for 20 years, we’ve never seen anything like this happen,” said Jim Kirkpatrick, who also says he saw the gunman running after hearing fire.
It was around 2 p.m. Monday when Houston police said a man and his girlfriend drove a Rolls Royce SUV from the Galleria to Lana Lane to shoot a music video. Police said it appeared the couple had been followed by a gunman who stole the man for his Rolex at gunpoint. Police said the man’s girlfriend drew her gun and a shooting ensued.
Home surveillance cameras captured some of the witnesses to the unrest.
“I just took a look and saw someone running across the field,” Kirkpatrick said.
Although HPD is yet to confirm whether the man seen in the video running from the scene is the shooter, but it does match the physical and dress description they provided. By the time the police arrived, the armed suspect was gone.
“I saw 15 police vehicles, investigators, bags of evidence and bullet casings on the ground in my driveway and a bullet lodged in my house,” said another neighbor, who did not want to be identified. .
Although the property, including the Rolls Royce, suffered damage. Police said there were no injuries.
Police believe the gunman was seen driving a white four-door sedan.
