Multiple structures damaged by fast-moving fire near Albuquerque, New Mexico, official says

Firefighters say the blaze now covers around 300 acres and evacuations will continue overnight.

In an earlier interview with CNN, Propp said the fire, which is zero percent contained, was affecting “a few thousand people in five different neighborhoods.”

Winds were over 50 mph, Propp said, which he says could cause the fire to affect other people and neighborhoods.

“Several structures are threatened,” he said.

The Valencia County Fire Department said in a statement that residents who live in the Blue Sky, Las Chapulinas and Nighthawk Roads area should evacuate immediately due to the fire danger.

“The Valencia County Fire Department and multiple agencies are responding to Bosque communities north of Rio,” the statement said. “Stay clear of the area.
