THELongtime America’s Most Wanted host John Walsh has said he will join the manhunt for Brian Laundrie, Gabby Petito’s boyfriend and someone of interest in connection with his death by homicide.
Walsh asked for information on Laundrie’s fate and said he would open his crime show In Pursuit With John Walsh on Wednesday focusing on Laundrie, who was recently reported missing by his family a week after Petito went missing.
“I’m settling in to grab this bag of dirt,” Walsh told NewsNation in an interview Monday.
“It’s homicide,” Walsh said. “That bag of dirt is over there. I don’t know how he got out of the house as the FBI and local cops watched him day and night.

Laundrie was reported missing by her family on Friday, eight days after Petito’s family reported her missing. Laundrie’s family said they last saw him on Tuesday, September 14, bound for the Carlton Reservation in Sarasota County, Fla., With a backpack.
Walsh said Laundrie’s family “bought him four days to get a head start.”

Petito was last seen on August 24 when she and Laundrie checked out of a hotel in Salt Lake City. Her mother, Nicole Schmidt, said she last heard from her daughter the next day when Petito told her they were on their way to Wyoming.
Authorities on Sunday discovered a “as-described” body of Petito in the Grand Teton Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming. The FBI has since confirmed the body to be Petito and said “the county coroner’s initial determination for the mode of death is homicide. The cause of death remains pending final autopsy results.”
Investigators raided Laundrie’s Florida home on Monday, with an FBI agent calling the area an “active crime scene.” Laundrie’s parents were taken from the house during the search.
