Morecambe scored two goals in added time to steal all three points in an exciting 2-1 Ligue 2 victory over promotion rival Salford at Mazuma Stadium.
The visitors looked set to take the maximum points at home with Brandon Thomas-Asante giving the Ammies the lead on the stroke of half-time with a shot from the edge of the zone that squirmed under the grip of Kyle Letheren .
Despite good football, the second half saw few chances until the 80 minute mark when Cole Stockton squandered a glorious opportunity and Carlos Mendes Gomes missed the mark with a close-range volley before the game does not come to life at death.
Morecambe equalized in the fourth minute of stoppage time when Mendes Gomes scored from close range after a header from Yann Songo’o bounced off the crossbar.
Two minutes later, the hosts sealed a remarkable comeback as Toumani Diaguraga’s long-range shot was shot into the net by Aaron Wildig up close.
The drama didn’t end there as Salford thought he scored a leveler seven minutes into added time, but the referee blew for a foul in the build-up and Morecambe took all three points.
