Moose kills photographer Dale Chomer in Homer, Alaska

A female moose attacked and killed a man who tried to photograph her calves, according to Alaska officials.

The moose charged two men who got too close to its offspring in Homer on Sunday morning, Alaska State Troopers said in a statement.

“As they were walking through the brush looking for the moose, that’s when the female moose attacked,” Austin McDaniel, a spokesperson for the Department of Public Safety, said Monday. Alaska, to the Associated Press, adding that the moose, which had recently given birth, attacked the men as they fled.
