Monkey tries to abduct little girl as she plays on scooter

Horror footage shows the moment a toddler was snatched by a monkey and dragged by his hair while playing outside on his scooter.

The unconscious girl was left with scratches on her face after being rescued from the vicious attack in China’s Chongqing municipality on Tuesday.

The video shows the monkey sneaking up on the girl as she played in the streets, knocking her to the ground before attempting to drag her away.

But luckily, she was saved by the actions of a sharp-eyed bystander who rescued the child from the animal’s clutches before he could take her away.

According to the girl’s mother, Liu, the incident happened while she was cooking inside.

She was only told of the horrific moment by next-door neighbors before discovering the dramatic CCTV footage for herself.

The angry mother immediately reported the incident to local authorities who confirmed that the girl would receive further treatment at a hospital, including vaccination.

According to accounts from concerned neighbours, the monkey first arrived in the village last May and was already known to police for attacking pensioners on several occasions.

Concerned neighbors said the monkey first arrived in the village last May and was already known to police for attacking pensioners on several occasions.

According to local police, the small animal inhabits the nearby mountains and sometimes comes to the residential area to wreak havoc.

But, despite numerous attempts to catch the monkey, search efforts remained unsuccessful.

Authorities have since confirmed that they will turn the monkey over to the wildlife protection department once it is captured to protect residents.

The local forest department told the media that attacks by wild monkeys are sporadic incidents and efforts are being made to prevent them from attacking humans again.

It comes a year after The Sun revealed the devastating aftermath of a horrific monkey attack that left a two-month-old baby maimed.

The predator attacked while the baby was in the living room while her mother was in the kitchen.

Hearing the seven-week-old crying loudly, the mother checked the living room to find her bloodied son on the floor and the animal standing by the front door of the house.

The city council has since reported catching the wild monkey responsible for the attack, but authorities have never confirmed what happened to the animal.
