Monarchs set to arrive for historic trip
The King and Queen are expected to arrive in Paris today for the first day of a state visit to France.
The trip is seen as an opportunity to rebuild ties that have deteriorated since Britain left the EU in 2020.
They will be welcomed at Orly Airport by the French Prime Minister, Elisabeth Borne, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to France, Dame Menna Rawlings, and her French counterpart, Hélène Tréheux-Duchêne.
The proceedings will begin with a welcome ceremony at the Arc de Triomphe and end with a sumptuous banquet attended by stars such as Hugh Grant and Mick Jagger.
The couple will embark on a busy three-day schedule which will see Charles, 74, become the first British monarch to deliver a speech in the French Senate chamber.
