Mohamed Salah received the treatment from Cristiano Ronaldo on Friday night as Egypt’s 2-2 draw against Angola was stopped three times by fans who wanted to meet their hero.
The night after Portugal star Ronaldo was approached by a full-time Republic of Ireland fan from their 0-0 draw, fans were also desperate for a while with Salah.
Africa’s most famous footballer has been mobbed by supporters looking for selfies as police are called in to remove frequent invaders from the pitch.
The Liverpool star was able to ignore the numerous disruptions as Egypt battled two goals to secure a 2-2 draw, securing their place for next year’s World Cup play-offs.
And Salah was the center of the action on the pitch – as well as the attention of fans – as the Egyptian king recorded two assists to help his nation advance.
Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have a habit of surprising crowd visitors every time they play – and many believe Salah is on their level now.
The 29-year-old has scored 16 goals in 15 appearances this season, some of which have been truly amazing.
In fact, former Chelsea striker Jason Cundy believes Salah is playing like Ronaldo in his prime at Real Madrid.
“He improved his game,” the Sports Bar host said on talkSPORT.
“Just when you thought he couldn’t, he took his game to another level.
“He’s doing for Liverpool now what Ronaldo did for Real Madrid in their absolute glory.”
