According to the latest report from Cricbuzz, Moeen Ali has finally got his visa papers to travel to India and is now ready to join Chennai Super Kings on Thursday. Moeen, one of CSK’s full members, had applied for the travel documents on February 28, but approval came after more than three weeks.
According to the latest developments reported by Cricbuzz, the English all-rounder Moeen Ali finally received his visa papers to travel to India to participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, which is scheduled to start on March 26. Moeen’s IPL Franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and his family members confirmed the news to Cricbuzz.
“He picked up his papers yesterday and is ready to fly,” his father Munir Ali said. “He will arrive in Mumbai in the evening and will go straight into solitary confinement,” CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan told Cricbuzz.
However, the visa clearance did not come soon enough for Moeen to be available for the season opener of IPL 2022, where CSK will face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). “He will not be available for the first game against Kolkata Knight Riders but we are happy that all the uncertainty is over,” the franchise CEO added.
Earlier, Cricbuzz reported that 34-year-old Moeen applied for the travel documents on February 28, but quite inexplicably the visa took over three weeks to come. Although he has been a frequent traveler to India, having featured in the last three editions of the IPL.
So, from now on, CSK will have the services of Moeen in their second game against Lucknow Super Giants, which will take place on March 31 at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.
