One of Judi’s favorite parts of her business is sharing all the creative ways non-retail clients can use mannequins for various DIY projects, like her recent hair studio.
“I started the hair studio because people needed something creative that was easy, and you can create wearable art in 90 minutes that you can wear for years,” Judi explained.
The event encouraged attendees to connect art and culture by creating intricate headdresses using recycled materials.
“I thought it was an interesting way to see sustainable fashion that’s a little bit different, and I really thought it was fun at this event,” said workshop participant Dakota Margolis. .
“I really wanted to find a way to be creative and have fun and create something that I could wear and feel totally fabulous,” said workshop participant Mable Huang. “And engage my multicultural identity, so that ticks all the boxes for me.”
Judi continues to inspire creativity through her business with workshops, tutorials, and Zoom classes.
“Making something by hand has been proven to help relieve your anxiety, relieve depression, make you happy, and I think, don’t we need a little more happiness and joy in this moment?”
