MO Dem Senate campaign fires staffer accused of sexual misconduct

A US Senate campaign staffer from Democrat Trudy Busch Valentine’s Missouri has been fired after being arrested for an allegation of sexual misconduct, Breitbart News has learned.

John Lark Herron, 42, was arrested Oct. 24 for “invasion of privacy” at the Mid-County Family YMCA in Brentwood, Missouri, according to a Brentwood Police Department incident report. Police listed the alleged victim as a minor.

Herron is accused of violating Law 565.252, which states in part:

Invasion of privacy, penalty. — 1. A person commits the offense of invasion of privacy if he knowingly:

(1) Photographing, filming, videotaping, producing or otherwise creating an image of another person, without the person’s consent, while the person is in a state of total or partial nudity and is in a place where one could reasonably expect privacy; Where

(2) Photographs, films, video recordings, produce or otherwise create an image of another person under or through the clothing worn by that other person for the purpose of viewing the body or undergarments worn by that other person without that person’s consent.

Herron, whom police listed as a “staff member” of Valentine, was jailed and released the same day, according to the booking sheet. However, Soros-backed St. Louis County District Attorney Wesley Bell appears to have filed no formal charges against Herron on Wednesday night. Breitbart News has contacted Bell’s office for comment, but has not received a response as of press time.

The Trudy Busch Valentine campaign provided a brief response to questions about Herron’s arrest and his involvement in the campaign.

“As soon as we became aware of it, we took immediate action and he is no longer a campaign employee,” the campaign said Wednesday via email.

They did not answer how long Herron worked for the campaign, although Federal Election Commission (FEC) records show the campaign paid him a salary of $3,929.65 on September 15, 2022, at “administrative” purposes.

Herron and his emergency contact listed on the booking sheet did not respond to requests for comment at the time of publication.

The arrest came just two weeks before the Busch Beer heiress and Republican Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt will face off in the race to take the seat of incumbent Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO). A recent poll shows Schmitt leading Valentine by double digits, 51% to 39%.
