MNPD leader thanks security guard for his heroic actions

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) — Metro Nashville Police Chief John Drake thanked a Broadway security guard on Friday for helping prevent a potential tragedy last week.

Chief Drake thanked Mike Kuhn, a security guard at the Lucky Bastard Saloon in downtown Nashville, for helping arrest a man who had tried to injure a police officer the previous week.

On Friday, July 22, 19-year-old Cristopher Quintero of Antioch attempted to intervene in the arrest of his friend down Broadway. Authorities said a citizen shouted that Quintero had a gun. At that moment, Kuhn, standing in the large open window of the bar, saw Quintero pull the gun out of a pouch and leap out of the window onto Quintero, knocking the gun out of its grip.

Thanks to Kuhn’s quick actions, no one was seriously injured and the police were able to arrest Quintero and his friend.
