MLB Insider predicts Judge Aaron will leave New York

The Aaron Judge draw appears to be down to just two teams, namely the New York Yankees and the San Francisco Giants.
If 2022 was Judge’s final season in the Yankee Stripes, he certainly saved his best for last, breaking a single-season home run record that had stood in the American League for more than six decades.
That was enough for the veteran slugger to earn American League MVP honors.
But as of now, it’s a two-team race for the 30-year-old.
An analyst made a bold prediction Thursday, predicting that Judge’s next contract won’t be with the Yankees and that he will eventually sign in San Francisco.

The reigning AL MVP is of course from the San Francisco area and grew up as a Giants fan.
The Giants certainly have the resources to snatch him from the Yankees.
New York cannot be counted, however.
In all but one of Judge’s seven seasons in the league, the Yankees reached the playoffs.
Since Judge made his debut, the Giants have reached the playoffs only twice, winning the NL’s second Wild Card in 2016 and winning a division title in 2021 after a 107-win season.
But that doesn’t mean the Giants don’t have a chance at landing the veteran slugger.
After going 81-81, the team has money to burn, and president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi is known for making some savvy acquisitions in the offseason.
Maybe Judge could be his next big move.
The Winter Meetings will take place next week, after which there should be more activity in the free agent market.
