Missouri AG Eric Schmitt hits back at Democrats’ ‘fascist’ label

Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt, a Republican candidate for the Missouri Senate seat, hit back at a Democrat for calling him a ‘fascist’ for his defense of former President Donald Trump’s constitutional rights following the raid Biden administration’s Department of Justice (DOJ) precedent on Trump. In an exclusive statement to Breitbart News on Friday, the state’s attorney general blasted Democrats for their increasingly “radical” conduct.

The brief’s arguments speak for themselves, but this attack shows how radical Democrats have become when they call you a “fascist” for simply telling the Justice Department – which has become too political under Biden – to keep its investigations impartial,” he said.

On Tuesday, Schmitt signed a Short which calls for more transparency during the ongoing legal dispute between the former president and the Department of Justice (DOJ) over content seized during an FBI raid on his home in Mar-a-Lago, Florida last month last.

Claiming the indicated move that Schmitt is prioritize policy on the people of Missouri, Democratic Missouri State Rep. Ian Mackey attacked the attorney general, calling him a “fascist” for his “politically motivated” act.

“Am I surprised that the fascist attorney general who helped fund the insurgency through the Republican Attorneys General Association is siding with Donald Trump on this issue? Of course not,” Mackey said.

Earlier, Schmitt’s spokesman, Chris Nuelle, said he was “proud” to join the case.

Led by the office of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and signed by ten other state attorneys general, the amicus brief seeks to secure the return of privileged and potentially privileged documents seized in the unprecedented search of the home of a former president.

Following the FBI raid, Schmitt joined Republicans outraged in calls for retaliation against the FBI, while vowing to take a ‘wrecking ball’ at the DOJ if elected to the Senate.

Last month, Schmitt pointed to the bad consequences of Democratic leadership as he struck down St. Louis leaders for blaming the city’s crime problems, in part, on automakers, rather than Democratic politicians.

“St. Louis has a violent crime problem. What’s causing crime in the city? The mayor’s war on the police? The district attorney is letting the criminals run wild? He asked.

“Obviously the ‘leaders’ of the city think it’s… the cars. Yes, the automakers are to blame, not the criminals,” he said. “You can’t make this stuff up.”

In July he called St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones, an “unserious person looking to score political points at every turn while turning a blind eye to the relentless murders that plague the city.”

“Unfortunately, his tenure is synonymous with forced masking, crime, defunding the police and now illegal, taxpayer-funded abortions,” he added.
