Missing Fairhope woman killed, two from Mobile County arrested


MOBILE, Alabama (WKRG) – Two people have been arrested for the death of a woman from Fairhope.

Tammy Wedgeworth, 44, was initially reported missing by the Fairhope Police Department on January 3. Wedgeworth was last seen around 9 p.m. on the night of January 1 as she left her home in Fairhope in a white Ford F-150 en route to Mobile.

Mobile Police were assisting Fairhope Police with the investigation when her body was found on Friday. Police said they also found the victim’s vehicle and credit card.

Kenneth Colburn, 33, was arrested and charged with murder and fraudulent use of a credit card.

Amanda Miller, 35, was also arrested and charged with fraudulent use of a credit card.

Police did not say what connection, if any, the victim had with the two suspects. Colburn has a full record of arrests with several bookings in the Mobile County Jail from 2006.
