Mindy Kaling continues to show off her weight loss in purple dress at the White House

Presidential purple for victory.
Mindy Kaling wore bright jewel tones as she received the National Medal of Arts from President Biden in Washington, DC on Tuesday, bringing her 5-year-old daughter, Katherine Swati, with her for the proud moment.
The ‘Office’ star posted a series of head-to-toe photos of herself in purple in the White House yesterday on Instagram, sharing how it ‘didn’t seem real’ to receive the award, which is the highest honor given to those who have made a contribution to the arts in the United States.
Kaling, 43, looked chic – and matched the ribbon on her new medal – as she wore a Monique Lhuillier short-sleeved mini dress for her big day, pairing it with pumps in a lavender hue clearer and covering it with a hazy pink coat.
She carried an Oscar de la Renta purple mini floral bag covered in Swarovski crystals ($4,990), allowing fans to get a closer look at the clutch — and her Cartier watch — in a photo.
The ‘Mindy Show’ star added gemstone drop earrings, a diamond band and a gemstone bracelet to complete her White House look.
Meanwhile, Katherine, aka “Kit,” wore a frilly white dress, white ankle socks and sparkly silver shoes for her mother’s special moment.
“A short time ago I received a call from Dr. Maria Rosario Jackson informing me that the National Endowment of the Arts and the Office of the President wanted to give me the National Medal of Arts for my work in television and in as an author,” Kaling captioned his post.
Adding that she was “always figuring out how to receive the news,” the comedian shared that it was “almost too much to take” when she heard President Biden talk about his family and “their trip to the United States”.
His late mother was on Kaling’s mind, with the star pointing skyward and beaming in a photo, while writing: ‘Wish my mum was here but what are you going to do .”

Kaling joined several other famous faces who received medals yesterday, including Vera Wang, Bruce Springsteen, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and an iconic singer, with the author adding “it didn’t seem real!” I mean, I was sitting next to GLADYS KNIGHT.
Her White House honor comes after the screenwriter and producer showed off her recent weight loss on the 2023 Oscars red carpet, wearing two different shades of the same National Medal of Arts winner Vera Wang dress.
As for meeting the president, Kaling said, “Nothing is perfect, but yesterday was pretty close.”
