Milwaukee snow crews work through the night to clear the streets

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – The Milwaukee Department of Public Works (DPW) says crews worked through the night with salt trucks and snowplows to keep up with the snow.

“Crews are continuing on main streets and are now clearing parking lanes in preparation for the morning commute. Once complete, we are re-addressing residential streets,” the department said in a statement early Friday morning, Feb. 25.

While the salt trucks are equipped with blades under the belly, in anticipation of heavy snowfall, the front plow blades began to be fitted at 9 p.m. with the shift change.

The roads could remain slippery and dangerous for the morning commute.
