Mike Richards is no longer in danger! Executive producer: NPR

After weeks of uproar at Danger!, Mike Richards has left the show completely. He is the show’s former executive producer and was recently named one of the game’s two new hosts – but stepped down just days after The Ringer detailed the sexist and inappropriate comments he made in his former role as a podcast host.

Less than two weeks ago, Sony Pictures Television told NPR in an emailed statement, “Richards will remain in his role as the show’s leader.” The company spokesperson added: “We hope that as a PE he will continue to do so with professionalism and respect.”

Sony Pictures Television shared with NPR a memo sent by Suzanne Prete, executive vice president of business and strategy at Wheel of Fortune and Danger!, to the staff of the two game shows. In part, it reads as follows:

“Dear team,

I am writing to inform you that Mike will no longer be EP of Wheel and Danger! effective immediately. We had hoped that when Mike left the host position at Danger! it would have minimized the disruption and internal difficulties that we have all experienced in recent weeks. This clearly did not happen. “
