Mike Ditka’s Super Bowl sweater up for auction

CHICAGO (SCS) — Perhaps the most iconic sweater in Chicago history is up for auction.

Legendary Bears coach Mike Ditka’s Super Bowl XX sweater vest is being sold through Heritage Auctions, and bidding has already topped $30,000.

Ditka donned the Bears jersey on January 26, 1986, when the Bears crushed the Patriots 46-10.

This is the last championship won by the Bears.

Heritage Auctions says the sweater is still in pristine condition, after Ditka sat it untouched in a dresser drawer for decades since it was taken off the field at the Super Dome when the Bears won the Super Bowl XX.

Bidding on the jersey ends August 27.
