Migrant filmed carrying out machete attack in Italy

A North African migrant from Morocco was filmed on the streets of Turin, Italy, attempting to attack another man with a machete.

The video, which was taken earlier this week on Wednesday, shows a man running away from the shirtless Moroccan who wields a large machete, with the incident taking place near a local primary school.

The machete-wielding man was later pulled over and arrested by local police who identified him as a 28-year-old Moroccan who has a history of mental health issues and has been involved in several other violent incidents in the past , The Giornale reports.

The newspaper reports that the migrant climbed onto a roof to evade police control and threw tiles at passers-by and also assaulted two people on a bus.

He was arrested for assaulting the man running away from him with the machete he was carrying and the victim is also believed to be a migrant. the victim, although injured, is not in a life-threatening condition.

The attack was reportedly the result of a dispute between the two men that escalated into violence.

The national-conservative leader of the Brothers of Italy (FdI), Giorgia Meloni expressed himself about the attack saying: “In Turin, a fight between North Africans endangers the safety of citizens and passers-by. The stranger armed with a machete has already attacked several people in the past.

Meloni went on to slam Italian Interior Minister Luciana Lamorgese, saying: “Weeks ago the FdI demonstrated in the same street demanding security in Turin and other cities. Lamorgese wake up!

According The Giornale the neighborhood where the attack took place, known as Aurora, has become “unliveable” for residents, according to Augusta Montaruli, a member of the Italian parliament of the Italian Brothers of Turin.

The machete incident comes just six months after another Moroccan was arrested in the town for brandishing a knife at residents while fully naked.

The 25-year-old had stolen the knife from a local restaurant and he later attempted to attack police after they tried to convince him to drop the weapon.
