On Monday, before Hurricane Nicholas hit Texas, ABC13 reporter Mycah Hatfield captured a man walking on Galveston Beach dressed as someone’s worst nightmare, Michael Myers.

But who is the mysterious man behind the costume?
His name is Mark Metzger, a lawyer from the Galveston area who is no stranger to this stuff. His prank caused a sensation on the beach, but it didn’t last long.

On Monday, Galveston Police said officers received a call from a masked man with a knife with blood on it. When police arrived at the scene, they arrested Metzger and learned that the knife and the blood were fake. Police said Metzger was cited for disorderly conduct and released.
Islander Adam Garrison told ABC13 he thought the man’s stunt was stupid and was probably doing it to get attention amid a storm threatening the Texas coast . Garrison added that it was all stupid, but he gave a good little chuckle and called it “another day on the island”.
Meanwhile, Metzger said he did it to try and find “a little bit of positivity in dark doom.” But it seems not everyone found it funny.
“I don’t think they like it that much. I guess there are some people who don’t have a sense of humor or, you know, who can’t please them all,” a- he declared.
Although this is something he has done before, Metzger added that it was the first time that one of his stunts had encountered “deadly force”, but that he had cooperated with the orders of the officers. He even compared his arrest to something from an episode of Scooby-Doo.
“It sounded like a scene from Scooby-Doo after they handcuffed me and removed the mask, like, ‘I would have been okay without those Karen intruding, you know? ” he said.
But not everyone was terrified of her outfit. Metzger said some people stopped for a few photographs and the beach patrol even played the theme song for the movie “Halloween.”
So would he do it again?
“If I had to do it again, I would absolutely do it again,” he said.
