Michael Conforto will undergo shoulder surgery at the end of the season

Michael Conforto will not play until 2023.

The 29-year-old former Mets outfielder successfully underwent surgery on his right shoulder last week, The Post’s Jon Heyman reported on Saturday.

Dr. Neal ElAttrache performed the operation. Conforto is expected to fully recover and return to play in spring training 2023 – assuming he’s signed to a team by then.

Scott Boras, the agent for Conforto, told Heyman the outfielder injured his right shoulder while training in January. Conforto had weighed in recent days whether to undergo the operation – described as cleaning – now or wait until the end of the year.

Conforto turned down an $18.4 million qualifying offer from the Mets last winter.
