The New York Mets and their fans have much to look forward to as they enter the 2022 season.
They have a starting rotation that features perhaps the best one-two punch in all of baseball, namely Jacob deGrom and Max Scherzer.
In fact, in Sunday’s spring training game against the St. Louis Cardinals, Scherzer and deGrom will see action.
SNY, the Mets television network, is delighted.
On Twitter, they posted a cute Star Wars meme that sums it up perfectly.
The meme features Sith Lord Darth Maul from The Phantom Menace with a photoshopped Mets hat on his head, lighting both blades of his double-bladed lightsaber, with one end bearing deGrom’s name written on it, and the other bearing the name of Scherzer writes on it.

It may just be spring training, but it must be exciting for Mets fans to have the chance to show off Scherzer and deGrom in the same game.
And what better way to celebrate than with a meme from Star Wars, the greatest movie franchise of all time.
Of course, when Maul activated that second blade, we all knew it meant double trouble watching the movie, and that’s the case when Scherzer and deGrom cast in the same game.
It will be fun to watch for Mets fans.
Again, this might just be a spring training game that people really don’t care about, but it must be exciting to get a chance to see the two best pitchers in all of baseball shoot the rubber in the same game.
Who wouldn’t be excited about that?
And what better way to show your enthusiasm than with Darth Maul and his double-bladed weapon?
