Met Gala 2024 Unforgettable Looks: Zendaya, Cardi B, Lana Del Rey and More

By Monday morning, the answer to one of the biggest questions hanging over the Met Gala at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art had emerged.

Would members of the union representing employees of Vogue and other Condé Nast publications follow through on their threats to disrupt the gala orchestrated by Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour? No: an agreement in principle between Condé Nast and union leaders was reached a few hours before the event.

But more questions: Which celebrities would show up? How would guests interpret the “Jardin du Temps” dress code? — were only answered when attendees began exiting the Sprinter vans and heading toward the gala, officially known as the Costume Institute Benefit.

As stars like Emily Ratajkowski, Pamela Anderson and Dan Levy walked the carpet, certain sartorial themes became clear. Among them: floral prints and embellishments, elaborate headpieces and skin-revealing outfits that further skew the Garden of Eden.

At an event where fashion is the center of attention, it can be more difficult to stand out on a red (or green, as was the case at this year’s Met Gala) carpet. But these 20 sets – for good and not so good reasons – will be hard to forget.
