Memphis SCORPION unit definitely disbanded
MEMPHIS, TN (WREG) — Memphis Police Department announced Saturday they permanently disbanded the SCORPION unit.
In response to the tragic death of Tire Nichols, Chief CJ Davis said “it is in everyone’s interest to permanently deactivate the SCORPION unit”.
The MPD said officers currently assigned to the unit ‘are wholeheartedly in agreement’ with the actions taken by the department
