Megan Fox says seeing Machine Gun Kelly Grow is better than a Grammy

The category winner was announced at a ceremony preceding the TV broadcast. While walking the red carpet shortly after, Machine Gun Kelly expressed how he felt and reflected on his journey.

“I’m still pretty uncomfortable here,” he said. Laverne Cox on In live from! to attend these events. “At the end of the day, I’m really happy to be in the company of such great musicians. I didn’t bring the category home, and I almost feel like I asked for this lesson. Like, I I felt like I lacked self-esteem, and I valued myself so much over my career accomplishments that I needed it. The drive here was very cathartic for me… I need to appreciate what I already have, and once that self-love happens for me, things like rewards and all that will come.”

And Machine Gun Kelly realized the real prize was doing what he loves. As the 32-year-old said, “When the art is yours, you’ve already won.”

“I know the world will never forget the young man with the pink guitar,” he added. “I feel more at peace now than I think I’ve ever felt in my life. And I took a drive here to contemplate and feel a gratitude that I don’t know I’ve ever felt before. I always had so much attitude and I needed gratitude.”
