A major leak of medical data allowed the dissemination, on the web, of personal information on 500,000 French people. These data would come from the files of around thirty medical analysis laboratories, some of which are located in Morbihan and Côtes-d’Armor. The leaks would also concern Eure, Loiret and Loir-et-Cher.
The important file uploaded, that Liberation was able to consult, would contain sensitive data, such as Social Security number, date of birth, blood type, address, mobile phone number, name of the prescribing doctor, etc.
Health status information
Each line of the file, corresponding to a patient, would also contain information on the state of health, such as drug treatments or pathologies (“Levothyrox”, “brain tumor”, “HIV positive” or “deaf patient”). .
The leak of this data would be the result of revenge between hackers. The information was reportedly obtained by hacking into the Mega-Bus software, used by the medical laboratories that were victims of this leak.
