(WHNT) – McDonald’s restaurant owner-operators in the Tennessee Valley have teamed up to raise funds for local schools for the first annual “Fries for Supplies” fundraiser.

The restaurants raised funds by donating 10% of the proceeds from all a la carte French fries sales to local schools to show their appreciation to teachers and staff as they begin a new school year.

In four days, franchisees were able to raise $ 168,450 for local schools.

The fundraiser started on August 16 and ended on August 20.
