Jessica Simpson’s daughter, Maxwell, has an unlikely best friend: North West.

“One of Maxwell’s best friends is North,” Simpson revealed to Us Weekly on Thursday.

“She’s amazing,” the fashion designer exclaimed of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s oldest child. “She’s a great kid, and she’ll be part of a change in this world.”

Simpson, 41, shares Maxwell, 9, son Ace, 8, and daughter Birdie, 3, with husband Eric Johnson.

The “With You” singer shared that Maxwell and North became friends after playing on the same basketball team, which former NFL star Johnson, 42, coached “just recently.”

Both families live in California, with Simpson saying it’s “fun” to be in the same neighborhood as Kardashian, 41, and her four children: North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm , 2 years.

Simpson noted that because reality TV is more mainstream these days, it might be easier for the Kardashians than when she and Lachey, 48, had their show from 2003 to 2005.
