Mauricio Pochettino made a fan’s dreams come true by signing a Manchester United shirt, talkSPORT was told.
The Argentinian was in town for Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League clash at Manchester City, but the game played out in the shadow of reports linking Pochettino to the Red Devils’ work.
talkSPORT understands that Pochettino is interested in the job, however, PSG have reportedly blocked Man United’s approach for him.
But he was very accessible to United fans who met him before the game – which PSG lost 2-1 – and even agreed to sign a replica of the Red Devils home shirt belonging to the fan’s child.
Man United fan Billy told Sports Bar on Wednesday night: “We met Poch today and my kid had his autographs in the bag and you have to go” see if you can get him to sign a Manchester United shirt “.
Sports Bar host Jamie O’Hara said he saw it spinning on Twitter and Billy confirmed it was his child’s shirt.
Billy added: “There was a representative next to him who said ‘sorry, this is a Manchester shirt, he won’t sign it.’ But Poch said ‘it’s fine, it’s fine’ and then he signed it in the middle.
Pochettino’s decision to sign the shirt did not please Jason Cundy, who thinks it was very bad form of him to do so.
An outraged Cundy said: “Sorry, ‘Mopo’ signed a Man United shirt tonight?
“I’m telling you what you don’t do, when you are in Manchester and linked to another club but run PSG you do NOT sign this jersey.”
Maybe Poch is practical for the future …
