Mauricio Pochettino insists Man United manager search ‘not my problem’ amid job rumors

After Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s sacking, the club have announced that they will be looking for an interim manager to succeed Michael Carrick, before making a permanent appointment this summer.

It is believed that Pochettino would like to be that permanent manager as the Argentine is not fully settled at Paris Saint-Germain.

However, the 49-year-old wanted to focus only on his current club during his last press conference, and warned that his comments in the past about his admiration for Sir Alex Ferguson could be taken out of context.

“What another club is doing at that time is none of my business, that is none of my problem,” Pochettino said. “I have to focus on Paris Saint-Germain.

“I’m not going to make the mistake of talking. In the past when I was at Espanyol and my dream was to meet Ferguson all of that I can say now that it’s going to be misunderstood and out of context.

“I was a player for Paris Saint-Germain, I love the club, I love the supporters. I think it’s a fantastic time to be at the club.

PSG are currently 11 points clear at the top of Ligue 1, and a win against Man City on Wednesday night would take them to the top of their Champions League group.

Pochettino was keen to reiterate how happy he is at the French club.

“I am very focused. I’m not a kid, I’ve spent my whole life playing football, and now my 12th year as a coach, ”he said.

“We are in a company where rumors are there. I fully understand what is going on, sometimes in a positive way, sometimes in a negative way.

“That sort of thing cannot distract. The rumors are there, and we have to live with it.

“We are so focused, we give our 100% to give the best of ourselves for the club and to help the players perform in the best way. I am so happy at Paris Saint-Germain.
