Mauricio Pochettino commented on the intense speculation linking him for the first time to Manchester United, saying: “I am so happy in Paris”.
TalkSPORT sources understand Pochettino is the main candidate to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at United, with Sir Alex Ferguson pushing for the move.
The former Tottenham and Southampton boss has long been linked with Old Trafford, and several reports claim he would be open to a move now, despite being currently employed by Paris Saint Germain.
Pochettino edged out Zinedine Zidane, Brendan Rodgers and Erik ten Hag as the bookies’ favorite for the post, but he has now insisted he is focusing elsewhere.
“I am focused on football,” he said ahead of PSG’s Champions League game with Man City on Wednesday.
“I am not a child, I am not a child. I have spent my whole life playing football. We are in a business that the rumors are out there, I understand that.
“This is the world we live in. I am so happy at Paris Saint-Germain. We are so focused on trying to achieve the best possible results. “
“I am happy in Paris. I know the city well both as a player and a coach, I have always experienced this type of situation. Things happen and it’s not my responsibility. What I’m going to say if you ask me is that I’m happy in Paris.
Pochettino was named PSG boss on January 2 and has since been up for one of the most spectacular transfer windows in football history.
Yet despite the arrivals of Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos, the Argentinian appears to want a change at Old Trafford, with Ferguson being a huge factor.
