Chicago Bears fans blamed Matt Nagy and his management of Justin Fields a lot.

It was under Nagy when the Bears won Fields in the 2021 NFL Draft.

However, fans felt that the former head coach failed with his rookie quarterback during this season.

While fans are still bashing the former head coach, he took the time to talk about how he handled Fields.

When asked if he had any regrets with Fields, he said nothing about regretting playing him.

However, he talked about the number of sacks Fields took against the Cleveland Browns and how it hurt “a young quarterback’s confidence.”

As he talks about wanting to do everything to develop the young quarterback, he let his quarterback down.

Nagy’s calling play during this game was horrible and led to Fields having a horrible game.

There were no improvements to the program that season.

Although he talks about developing the right schema in his interview, he didn’t do it to help Fields.

While he won’t say he regrets his decision to cast the young quarterback, he says “it just didn’t go the way we wanted it to.”

However, his decisions and play calls were the exact reason for Nagy’s collapse in Chicago.

Because of this, Fields suffered in his first season with the Bears.

Although Nagy never uses the word regret, fans regret having him coach Fields in his rookie season.
