Martinelli shows support for Pablo Mari with Arsenal goal celebration

Mari, who is on loan from the Gunners of Monza in Serie A, was stabbed in a supermarket in Milan. An employee died and Mari had to undergo surgery for a back injury.

The next day, Mari posted a photo alongside his wife while thanking supporters for their messages.

“After the difficult time we went through yesterday, my family and I want to say that fortunately we are all doing well despite the circumstances, and we want to say thank you for all the messages of support and affection that we have received,” said he wrote.

Mari was released from hospital on Sunday and hours later Martinelli headed Arsenal’s first goal against Nottingham Forest and was given a Mari shirt to wear during his celebrations.
