Marshawn Lynch has been hired by Amazon Prime Video to be part of its “Thursday Night Football” preview, Marie Donoghue, Amazon’s vice president of Global Sports Video, said on the “Merchant & Ourand Sports Media Podcast.”
Although Lynch was arrested in August and charged with DUI, Donoghue said that was not the reason Lynch was just starting for Amazon this Thursday, his fifth game of the season.
“I think Marshawn wanted to work out some things,” Donoghue said on the podcast. “We were already working with him. We never walked away. We have just worked on some things with him and we are delighted. We can’t wait for him to join us.
Lynch will be in three- to four-minute feature films that Amazon calls “‘N Yo’ City.” On Thursday, before the Commanders game at the Bears, Lynch’s first feature is him playing football with children in Highland Park, the Chicago suburb that was ravaged by a gunman on July 4. The following week, Lynch will feed the alligators before Saints vs Cardinals.
Lynch, 36, was arrested in Vegas this summer. According to records obtained by the KSNV television station, the only Las Vegas city court records indicate that Lynch faces charges of “driving under the influence, failure/refusal to turn over proof of security, use of a vehicle unregistered and failing to drive in a traffic lane”. .”
The Post first reported Amazon’s interest in Lynch in January.
