Mariah Carey snubbed her dying sister, Alison, despite already knowing her days were limited.

Alison’s close friend David Baker made the sad revelation in light of Mariah’s announcement that she was “heartbroken” by the deaths of her mother and sister.

“A phone call or, better yet, a video call would have meant a lot to Alison. But it never came,” Baker said. The Sun of the United States Tuesday.

According to the source, Mariah, 55, didn’t even check on Alison when she was placed in hospice care a few weeks ago.

“The cruel rejection added more pain to Alison’s pain,” he said of Mariah’s older sister who was “unhappy” that the Emotions The singer had “cut off all contact with her” and chosen to keep her distance.

“She talked about it a lot. She wondered if Mariah or any of her family would come to her funeral,” the source added. “I was told there was a memorial service planned for a later date, but nothing yet.”

However, Mariah spent time with her mother, Patricia Carey, who passed away the same day as Alison, according to a statement the four-time Grammy winner made to People.

“I lost my mother this past weekend. Unfortunately, in a tragic twist of fate, my sister lost her life the same day,” Mariah told the outlet.

“I feel blessed to have been able to spend the last week with my mother before she passed away. I appreciate everyone’s love and support and respect for my privacy during this impossible time,” Mariah added.

Alison suffered from an alcohol addiction in addition to other health issues, the outlet reported.

After a home invasion in 2015, she suffered head trauma, vision problems, short-term memory problems, spinal cord injuries and digestive issues.

Mariah was also estranged from her brother, Morgan, when she published her memoir in 2020, The Meaning of Mariah Carey— prompting her two siblings to sue her for defamation and “intentional infliction of emotional distress.”

At one point in her memoir, Mariah wrote that it was, at least at the time, “emotionally and physically safer” for her “not to have contact” with Alison or Morgan.

Mariah also had a complicated relationship with her mother throughout her life.
