Manchin and Sinema shouldn’t be ‘the bad guys’ for questioning trillions in new spending

On Friday’s HBO “Real Time” show, host Bill Maher argued that Democrats should be “most upset” about the theft and fraudulent obtaining of COVID relief money and asked why the senses. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) “are considered the villains of their party because they looked at another multi-trillion dollar spending bill and wondered if our government was up to the task of taking all that money and not just having it siphoned off by crooks” and spent on nonsense.

After discussing the theft and fraud with COVID relief money, Maher said “no one, either party, even claims to ‘care about how taxpayers’ money is actually spent.

He later added, “There is an old adage that government can only transfer money through a leaky bucket, and I understand that. Some amount of leakage is unavoidable. But when there are only holes, it is no longer a bucket, what you have there is a handle. a january New York Times The article on the effectiveness of the PPP program says: “Overall, the PPP was extremely inefficient. ‘[O]”Only about a quarter of the money spent by the program paid wages that would otherwise have been lost”, “it did not go primarily to workers who would have lost their jobs”. It was indeed a boon for business owners – on the whole, a wealthy bunch. Okay, so shouldn’t liberal Democrats be the ones most upset about this? Who do you think gets fucked the most by all this corruption and theft? If I say, the government, they take our money and waste it, people say, you sound like a conservative. But again, I haven’t changed. The hole/bucket ratio has changed. Do I never have to notice this change to keep my progressive card? Should I continue to support government money transfers until the percentage stolen is…unlimited? What if they start shooting money out of a t-shirt cannon, still good? I guess these days these two [Sinema and Manchin] are considered the villains of their party because they looked at another multi-trillion dollar spending bill and wondered if our government was up to the task of taking all that money and not just taking it get siphoned off by scammers and for bullshit.
