Manchester United work on Jadon Sancho deal as Paul Pogba responds to new contract claims

Manchester United are in talks with Borussia Dortmund over a deal for Jadon Sancho.

The Red Devils have followed England international Sancho for the past two seasons and failed in a summer move last year with Old Trafford bosses reluctant to match the £ 108million demanded by the German club .

Sancho has scored eight goals and added 11 assists this season despite a string of injury setbacks

However, they have now moved closer to signing their goal after making a deal with the player himself.

According to trusted journalist Fabrizio Romano, Sancho has entered into a five-year contract at Old Trafford.

United have yet to agree on a transfer fee but have started negotiations with Dortmund, who now value the striker at around £ 80million.

“Manchester United have a deal with Sancho’s side on personal terms until 2026. Jadon is not creating any problems,” Romano wrote on Twitter.

“Negotiations are now starting with Borussia Dortmund. Price of 95 million euros, NO deal yet.

Sancho burst onto the scene with a phenomenal campaign during the 2019/20 season, scoring 17 goals and adding 16 assists in 32 games.

The 21-year-old had a rough start to the season due to a few injury setbacks but ended the campaign in electric form as Dortmund returned to the top four to cement a Champions League place.

As United work on a deal for Sancho, they also hope to tie Paul Pogba to a new deal.

The World Cup-winning midfielder is approaching the final year of his current contract and has pushed to leave in the past.

But he made a much happier figure at Old Trafford under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and United are hopeful the 28-year-old will stay.

Speaking in his homeland on Thursday, Pogba insisted his only goal was the Euro with France and claimed he had not entered into any discussions with the club.

“I have a year left on the contract, everyone knows that,” Pogba said in an interview with RMC Sport. “There were no concrete proposals for an extension. I am still in Manchester.

“After the season, there was the vacation, so I didn’t sit down with the managers and the coach. I am focused on the Euro.
