Manchester United could be forced to sell Paul Pogba to avoid losing him on a free transfer next summer.
The Red Devils midfielder has less than a year on his £ 290,000-a-week contract and is linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
The Mail claims Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola is discussing personal terms with PSG, who are confident they will land the French star for less than half of the £ 89million United paid Juventus in 2016.
Former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino has spoken of West Ham’s Declan Rice and Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez as Pogba’s replacement if he were to leave United.
He told talkSPORT: “If you look at Pogba’s five years so far, you’d probably give him seven to eight.
“He’s had some brilliant times and he’s definitely a great footballer. Has he done it often enough for Manchester United? No.
“The level at United has to be constant and play well week after week. He got that for the most part.
“He can be a game-changer. I have seen him do this several times. Not just for United, but for France.
“Six goals for United last season, which isn’t a bad comeback, but there are too many times he’s played in a more defensive role.
“I still think of Sir Alex Ferguson and I’ve been told that if he thinks you want to leave or discuss it, you won’t stay at United.
“This is the kind of attitude that has to be used at United for the players. If you don’t want to sign another contract at Manchester United, that’s important.
“Is it money?” He makes almost £ 300,000 a week so I personally think now is the time if you can get a good offer to let him go and find someone like Saul Niguez, Declan Rice to improve.
“Declan Rice wouldn’t get the numbers, but he would certainly add a lot to the midfield dynamic, which Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer] would like to use.
“You talk about such a talented and gifted player who hasn’t been consistent for five years.”

It is understood that PSG will have to sell players before they submit a £ 43million bid for Pogba.
The French giants have already spent £ 51.3million on Achraf Hakimi, while bringing in Georginio Wijnaldum, Sergio Ramos and Gianluigi Donnarumma on free transfers.
Asked about his future last month, Pogba said: “I have one year left on the contract, everyone knows that.
“There were no concrete proposals for an extension. I am still in Manchester.
