Man shot dead in fast-food parking lot
OAKLAND — A man was shot and killed Tuesday morning in the parking lot of an East Oakland fast-food restaurant, authorities said.
The man’s name was not immediately released pending confirmation of his identity and notification of his next of kin.
The shooting happened around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in a parking lot in the 6900 block of Bancroft Avenue, near Church Street. Police responding to a report of a shooting found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
Paramedics provided him with emergency aid, but he died instantly.
A potential suspect was seen fleeing in an unspecified vehicle. Investigators were still working to determine a possible motive.
This is the 113th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year.
