INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A man was found dead Saturday night in a grain elevator on the west side of town, the Indianapolis Fire Department said Sunday morning.

DFI staff spent hours in the soybean factory trying to retrieve the body of 32-year-old Marvin Tyler. Tyler was confirmed to be trapped in the elevator on Block 1100 on West 18th Street about 100 feet deep just after 1:00 p.m.

His body was released at 10:37 p.m. and turned over to the Marion County Coroner’s Office. The IFD says Tyler’s employer Bunge Contractors is investigating his death.

It is not known how Tyler got trapped in the silo.
