Man found fatally shot at illegal Temple City gambling den, authorities say

A man was fatally shot at an illegal Temple City gambling den on Tuesday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The man was found in a vacant building on the 9100 block of Las Tunas Drive around 12:19 p.m. by deputies responding to a 911 call reporting a shooting.

Deputies determined that the location was being used for an illegal gambling operation. The man, described as around 30 years old, was found with at least one gunshot wound to his upper body, homicide investigators say. He was treated by paramedics and pronounced dead at the scene. The building was otherwise empty.
