Man faces charges of stealing SUV with 4-year-old inside

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Vigilant community members helped police arrest a man accused of stealing an SUV with a 4-year-old child from a McDonald’s parking lot.

Just over half a mile away, Raytown police found the 4-year-old boy standing alone near the corner of Greenwood Avenue and Blue Ridge Blvd. He was not injured. The stolen SUV was abandoned near 86th Terrace and Booth Avenue in Raytown.

Kansas City police released photos of two suspects, including a man and a woman, from McDonald’s surveillance video. They received several tips. On July 14, someone saw the couple together at a pawn shop. The caller recognized them from the media and called the police. Investigators took them into custody for questioning near 113th and Blue Ridge Blvd.
