Man dies in single-vehicle crash in Naperville on Saturday – NBC Chicago

A Bolingbrook man died after his vehicle slammed into a pole in suburban Naperville on Saturday afternoon.

Police say a 57-year-old man was driving southbound on Plainfield/Naperville Road near Leverenz Road on Saturday afternoon when he left the roadway near Gateshead Drive.

Police say the vehicle then slammed into a pole, with debris from the collision hitting two other vehicles.

The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

Parts of Plainfield/Naperville Road were closed for several hours due to the crash, and an investigation is still ongoing. It is not known what caused the vehicle to leave the road.
