Man City XI vs Wycombe: lineup planned, squad news confirmed, latest Carabao Cup injury



Anchester City boss Pep Guardiola has confirmed he will give several of the club’s academy stars the chance to shine as they face the Wycombe Wanderers in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.

With the Champions League underway, City face a busy schedule over the next few months and with several players already injured, Guardiola sees the League One side’s visit as the perfect opportunity to keep his squad spinning.

“I have no other alternative but to play youngsters,” Guardiola said. “We are going to face a few young players.

“Some players might be resting for the games ahead and yes, a few Academy players will be playing.”

Rodri, Aymeric Laporte, John Stones and Oleksandr Zinchenko have all been excluded from the game, while Ilkay Gundogan is uncertain.

Guardiola has already confirmed that Joao Cancelo and Ruben Dias are among the stars of the first team he intends to rest.
