Man City XI vs Sevilla: Starting line-up, confirmed squad news & latest injuries for Champions League today

yle Walker and John Stones have been left out of Manchester City’s squad which traveled to Sevilla for the first Champions League game of the season.

Walker limped off in Saturday’s draw with Aston Villa as no confirmation was given as to why Stones will miss the trip.

Aymeric Laporte, meanwhile, remains a long-term absentee.

With Pep Guardiola short of defensive numbers, summer signing Manuel Akanji has been included in the starting XI, along with Kalvin Phillips.

The latter struggled with worries throughout the early stages of his City career but is in line to make his Champions League bow against Sevilla.

Jack Grealish is also traveling, with a rotation in order as Guardiola juggles between a continental campaign and a domestic season which he believes will bring plenty of twists and turns.

Manchester City starting XI (4-3-3): Ederson; Cancelo, Dias, Akanji, Gomez; Rodri, Silva, De Bruyne; Foden, Haaland, Grealish

injured: Walker, Stones, Laporte
