Man City “receive another top striker” this summer, according to a player who recently left the club.
Pep Guardiola is looking for a new center-forward following Sergio Aguero’s decision to go on a free transfer.
Clearly doubts remain about Gabriel Jesus as City have been linked with some of the biggest names in world football.
Guardiola has always played down the club’s chances of signing a top striker this summer, but that hasn’t stopped the rumor mill from going wild.
“Look, with these awards we’re not going to sign any strikers,” the City boss said in April.
Erling Haaland was linked at the start of the summer and it looks like Harry Kane is now their main target.
Reports suggest City will offer one of the four all-star players as part of a more cash player deal, likely to be over £ 100million.
Forward Lukas Nmecha was sold by City this summer to Wolfsburg for £ 11million in search of more playing time.
He went through the club’s academy, but only made three senior appearances for them.
Speaking of his departure, Nmecha told German media outlet Kicker: “I still had one year (left over) of (my) contract.
“They get another top striker, I don’t think my chances would have been very good there.”
